Challenge
Bibendum 2004 rolls into the Shanghai
International Circuit in China,
October 12-14, to showcase the auto
industry's progress with environmentally
friendly technologies. This is the
first time Michelin's premier environmental
vehicle event will be held in Asia,
reflecting China's impressive economic
growth and its emergence as the
world's third largest auto producer.
More than 100 vehicles, including
passenger cars, trucks, busses,
and, for the first time this year,
two-wheeled vehicles will engage
in competition that includes tests
on noise, emission, energy efficiency,
acceleration and handling. In addition,
the event will feature roundtables,
test drives, and an international
symposium to review major avenues
of development in the field of sustainable
road mobility.
A high-level international symposium
will be held for the first time
as part of Challenge Bibendum in
Shanghai on October 14th.
It
will provide a platform for leading
automakers, universities, research
institutes and policy makers from
China, EU, USA and Japan to discuss
international approaches, regulations
and the next steps of how to set
a clean and sustainable auto industry.
Local and international media will
be invited to the symposium.
